The idea for Williams Sonoma was born on a trip to Paris, where founder Chuck Williams became enchanted by the top-quality French cookware available to local chefs. Seeking to bring cast iron French ovens and copper saucepans to the United States, Williams opened up his first shop in Sonoma, California in 1956.

Today, Williams Sonoma has become a leader in fine cookware, bakeware and kitchen tools, as well as home goods and furniture. Shipping Policy

Williams Sonoma offers three shipping options:

Standard Shipping: Standard shipping arrives in four to five business days on most items. (Personalized items take an additional two days). Standard shipping rates start at $5.95 for orders of up to $15, and increase as orders get larger.

Next-Day Shipping: Next-day shipping orders arrive the following business day if ordered before 6 p.m. Next-day shipping costs an additional $26 on top of the standard shipping fee.

Unlimited Flat Rate Shipping: Unlimited flat rate shipping is available on qualifying furniture items and certain non-furniture items. These orders don’t ship until all items included in your order are available for delivery. The cost of unlimited flat rate shipping will vary depending on your location and order amount.

Gift Cards

Williams Sonoma gift cards are available in both traditional, plastic form and digital e-gift card form. Gift cards can be purchased at values between $25 and $500.

Physical gift cards come in a gift envelope with a personalized message. Gift cards can be mailed with standard delivery for free, or with next-day delivery for the shipping fee of $12.

E-gift cards can also be customized with a personal message, as well as a chosen design or photo. Digital Williams Sonoma gift cards are sent to recipients via email.

The Williams Sonoma app is designed special for wedding and gift registry management. The Williams Sonoma Wedding & Gift Registry app lets you create a registry, create curated lists, design digital checklists and seamlessly track purchases. In addition, the app allows you to use your camera to scan barcodes to add items to your registry when browsing in-store.

Registry Program

Williams Sonoma invites you to create a registry for your wedding and other special events through its wedding registry program. The program includes a free, one-on-one virtual or in-person consultation with registry experts, in addition to private tours and complimentary demonstrations. The Williams Sonoma registry program also includes a 10% completion discount good for up to six months after your wedding, as well as free bonus gifts when you register for items from certain brands.

Rewards Program

The Williams Sonoma rewards program is called The Key. It’s a shared loyalty program across all Williams-Sonoma Inc. family brands, including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm, Williams Sonoma Home and Mark & Graham.

The program hooks members up with the following perks:

Reward codes are issued after you’ve earned $10 or more. You will get an email with your reward code 30 days after earning your reward. You can use your reward at William Sonoma or any Williams-Sonoma Inc. brand, either in-store or online.

Curbside and Store Pickup

Williams Sonoma lets you place an order, then pick it up in store for free -- usually on the same day. To place an order for pickup, filter your search by “Pick It Up Today” and make sure the location is set to your local store. On the product page, select “In-Store” Pick Up, then hit “Add to Cart”. From there, you can checkout as normal. When your order is ready, you’ll receive an email. Once you’re at the store, you can show an associate your ID and order number to pick up your items.
